Army ROTC Scholarship Programs

The Army ROTC scholarship program provides financial assistance for the education and training of highly qualified and motivated young men and women who desire to be commissioned as officers in the Army after graduation from college.

Eligibility Requirements The following eligibility requirements apply for scholarship competition:

  • Character: Be of good moral character, as evidenced by participation as a member of his/her home community and the institution where enrolled.
  • Citizenship: Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Age: Be at least 17 years of age by October 1 of the year of enrollment as a scholarship cadet. Be under 27 years of age on 30 June of the calendar year in which eligibility for appointment as a Second Lieutenant except that up to 4 years extension may be granted for active duty service.
  • Motivation: Exhibit a strong desire to obtain a commission and baccalaureate degree.
  • Officer Potential: Leadership potential will be emphasized as a very important factor to be considered for selection and continuance of scholarship. Applicant must possess officer potential as evidenced by appearance, personal physical fitness, personality, academic performance and extracurricular activities.
  • Medical: Be medically qualified for initial enrollment into ROTC.
  • Curriculum: Be enrolled in or accepted for enrollment as a full-time regularly matriculating student in any major of study, except Theology, at a baccalaureate degree granting institution, beginning the effective date of the scholarship. Department of the Army has a requirement for highly technical and other specific disciplines. Army ROTC scholarships are awarded to applicants based on the academic disciplines they are pursuing. Army ROTC scholarship recipients must attain an undergraduate degree in the discipline in which the scholarship is granted.
  • Academic: Minimum GPA of 2.5 at time of application and at contracting. An enrolled applicant must have at least a 3.0 ROTC cumulative GPA . serve
  • Physical Aptitude: Applicants must pass the minimum standard on the Army Physical Fitness Test or the Physical Aptitude Examination.

4-year Scholarship Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty (2 Years)
3-year Scholarship Dedicated Guard (2 Years)
2-year Scholarship Non-Scholarship Simultaneous Membership Program (active or reserve)
